The Blessed Virgin Mary was crowned as Queen of the Universe after Her Glorious Assumption into Heaven.
This only makes sense, as Her Divine Son, God, Himself, Is King of the Universe. He createdst a Perfect Woman, named Mary, to be His Mother. He redeemedst Her in advance, He preservedst Her from all stain of original sin, and confirmedst Her in grace. If She had said, “No,” instead of “Yes,” when Holy Archangel Gabriel asked her to become The Mother of God, God The Son wouldst not have come to earth and wouldst not have redeemed us. Mary was our last chance for salvation. Since God The Son chose to come to earth, as a Baby, through Mary, He chooses to send all graces to us through Her Most Holy Hands, as our Mediatrix with Him, Who Is The Only Mediator with The Father. We definitely please The King — Jesus — when we honor and please The Queen — Mary.
The Queenship of Mary is celebrated in the traditional calendar of A.D. 1962 on May 31st: Novena: 5/22–5/31;
in the new calendar on August 22nd: Novena: 8/13–8/22.
Her Coronation is celebrated traditionally on August 18th: Novena: 8/9–8/18.
SALVE, MARIA!
SALVE, REGINA
In Latin:
Salve, Regina, Mater Misericordiae, Vita, Dulcedo et Spes nostra, Salve. Ad Te clamamus exules filii Hevae; ad Te suspiramus gementes et flentes in hac lacrymarum valle. Eia ergo, Advocata nostra, illos Tuos Misericordes Oculos ad nos converte. Et Jesum, Benedictum Fructum Ventris Tui , nobis post hoc exsilium ostende, O Clemens, O Pia, O Dulcis Virgo Maria.
Hail, Holy Queen!
In English:
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To Thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to Thee do we sigh, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Ah then, our Advocate, turn Thine Eyes of Mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us The Blessed Fruit of Thy Womb, Jesus. O Merciful, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary!
