June is the month of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Feast of The Sacred Heart takes place on the third Friday after Pentecost, the Friday after the Transferred Feast of Corpus Christi — Sunday)
The Sacred Heart of Jesus represents The Infinite Love that The Most Holy Trinity hath for His Creatures, particularly His Human Creatures. God The Son actually condescended to take the Form of a Human Man to make up to The Most Holy Trinity for Adam’s throwing everything back in God’s Face when he disobeyed the one commandment given to him. After Adam’s sin, he and Eve were barred from Eden, and death entered the world. Heaven was closed against Adam and all of his descendants, which includes all human beings. If it were to be opened, it would have to be because someone had decided to pay for Adam’s sin against God. Since God Is Infinitely Generous and Charitable, God The Son decided to become a God-Man and to suffer and even die bodily to make up for Adam’s sin and to open Heaven for those, who died in friendship with Him. One analogy to show how Great a Sacrifice this was is to imagine a planet of robots, who needed redeeming, and a human taking the form of a robot to do so. But, the difference between humans and robots is much smaller than the difference between The Infinite, Uncreated God and His finite human creatures.
Why did God create rational beings, such as the Angels and us human beings? He wanted to share His Happiness with them and us, as He Is perfectly Happy in His God-Community of Three Persons in One God.
What does God want each of His rational creatures — Angels and human beings — to do? KLSO: God wants each of us to Know Him, Love Him, Serve Him, Obey Him, and be happy with Him forever in Heaven.
Jesus made us for Himself, not for ourselves, not for others, but for Himself. He has the perfect blueprint for each one of us here on earth, and when I follow that blueprint, I am, at least, at peace, if not happy; when I do not, I am not. Why not? Because Jesus gave me the family tree I have; He gave me the talents I have; He gave me the personality I have; He gave me the profession or vocation that I have,…
Each human being was made in The Image and Likeness of God — each one of us has an immortal soul, and the powers of the soul, which are the intellect, the memory, and the will. In this way, when our finite bodies die, our soul lives on forever, and the human being is still able to think, feel, reason, remember, and to make choices, because his intellect or mind is not located physically in his brain but spiritually in his soul, which cannot die. The intellect sends messages to the brain to get the body to do things, but even when the brain is damaged, the person can still think, remember, feel, etc., as his soul still lives on. It is just that the communication between the two is fractured by the damage to the brain. Therefore, scientists cannot see someone think — what they can see is the reaction of the brain to the messages being sent from the intellect to the brain to tell the body to do something, or the brain sending signals to the intellect/mind, informing it of what the senses are telling it.
Why did Jesus Christ, God The Son suffer so much for us human creatures? One Drop of His Most Precious Blood would more than have paid for any sin by anyone. One reason He did so was to show us how much He loved and loves us, to inspire us with a strong love in return. If we love Him enough, we will constantly ask for help to discern His Will and Blueprint for our lives here on earth, act accordingly, and die in friendship with Him, so that we can enjoy perfect happiness forever with God in Heaven, instead of everlasting torture in hell. As Jesus was Willing to suffer everything for us, we have to be willing to suffer with Him to make up for our sins/ betrayals of Him, to gain grace for others to convert their lives to Him, and to help our Brothers and Sisters to get out of Purgatory and get to Heaven. The key to happiness with Jesus is imitating His Sacrificial Love or Caritas. Another reason, that our Lord Jesus suffered so much, was to show us human creatures how much our sins/betrayals hurt Him. When He appeared to Ste. Marguerite Marie Alacoque in the late 1600’s at Paray-le-Monial, France, He showed her His Sacred Heart with Fire coming out of the top, a Sacred Wound to the left, and thorns stretching across It. What did the thorns mean? Even though our Lord Is Perfectly Happy in Heaven, we can still mystically wound His Most Sacred Heart with our sins/ betrayals of Him.
When we think of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, should we think of Jesus-Looking ‑Like-Bread-&-Wine in The Most Blessed Sacrament at the same time? YES! The Most Holy Eucharist or Jesus-Looking-Like-Bread-&-Wine Is The Fruit of our Lord Jesus Christ’s Most Sacred Death on The Cross for us. It Is The Sacrament of His Caritas or Sacrificial Love. It Is Food for our Hearts and Souls, Which He wants us to receive daily, as shown in St. Matthew’s version of the “Our Father”, wherein it says: “Give us this day, our Supersubstantial Bread.” (St. Matthew: 6:11, Douay Rheims Bible — 1st translation from Latin to English)
Besides frequent Confession, which should be at least weekly, to clean up our souls, and to remain in close friendship with God, we should pray good, efficacious prayers before Holy Communion. We can also pray The Most Holy Rosary to prepare us to receive Jesus, through Mary. After having received Jesus-Looking-Like-Bread, unless it is an absolute necessity, such as getting back to work, or for a very important appointment, which we cannot change or for an emergency, we should stay at the very least 15 to 30 minutes after Holy Communion to give thanksgiving to Him for this Incredible Gift of Himself to us. We should spend several minutes just visiting with Jesus. We should use our own words to adore Him, to thank Him, to praise Him, to ask for His Forgiveness, and to ask for His Help. Then, we can pray powerful prayers of Thanksgiving, inspired by The Holy Ghost, which have been passed down through the centuries or we could pray The Most Holy Rosary.
The question needs to be: “Do we want to get anything out of Holy Communion, or are we just going out of habit or for appearance’s sake?! The answer should be: “YES, we want to gain valuable fruit from our Holy Communion! The fruit of a husband and wife’s union is usually a child. The Fruit of the Communion between us and Jesus is our becoming more and more like Him, and, thus, becoming ever closer to Him, so that we can imitate Him in our lives and spread His Sacrificial Love/Caritas to others.
Since Jesus made us for Himself, our goal is to do His Will perfectly, so that we can reach Eternal Happiness in Heaven with Him.
NOVENA PRAYERS:
Pray these prayers daily for June & at least one, daily, even beyond June.
Reveal Thy Sacred Heart to me, O Jesus, and show me Its Attractions. Unite me to It forever. Grant that all of my aspirations and all of the beats of my heart, which cease not even while I sleep, may be a testimonial to Thee of my love for Thee and may say to Thee: Yes, Lord, I am all Thine; the pledge of my allegiance to Thee rests ever in my heart and will never cease to be there. Do Thou accept the slight amount of good that I do and be graciously pleased to repair all of my wrong-doing; so that I may be able to bless Thee in time and in eternity. Amen.
O Most Holy Heart of Jesus, Fountain of every Blessing, I adore Thee, I love Thee, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer Thee this poor, miserable heart of mine. Make me holy, humble, pure, patient, and wholly obedient to Thy Divine Will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in Thee and for Thee Alone. Protect me in the midst of dangers. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of heart, soul, mind, and body, Thine Assistance in my temporal needs, Thy Blessing on all that I do and the grace of a holy death in Thee. (In Thy Most Sacred Name and in Thy Holy, Extended Family’s Name.) Amen.
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee.
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have Mercy on me.
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Thy Love for me.
O My Jesus, Meek and Humble of Heart, make my heart like unto Thine.
