DECEMBER NOVENAS

CHRISTMASS NOVENA 11/30 — 12/25

Pray 15 times a day:

Hail, and Blessed be the Hour and Moment
in which The Son of God was born of The
Most Pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in
Bethlehem in piercing cold.  In that Hour
vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer
and grant my desires. (Mention your
intentions here) Through The Merits of
our Saviour Jesus Christ and of His
Blessed Mother.” Amen.

This prayer, along with your Advent MAP activities, would be a great preparation for Jesus’ Birthday, a joyful ChristMass Season and great beginning of the New Year.

Prayer to The Divine Infant

How lovely are Thy Tabernacles, O God of Hosts!  My soul and my flesh have been rapt in ecstasy in thinking of The Living God.  The sparrow has a home, and the dove a nest for her young, but Thy Poor Crib, O my God, My King, Is my refuge forever.

Eternal praises and thanks be poured forth to Thee, O Father, Who hast given us Thine Only-Begotten Son.  Everlasting praises sound to The Son, Who united Himself so intimately with our poor, fallen nature, and to The Holy Ghost, Who hast formed His Holy Humanity in the Womb of The Purest of Virgins.

I adore Thee, Divine Infant Son of The Eternal Father.  I recognize under that feebleness and poverty and lowliness The Fullness of The Divinity, Which dwells in Thee, and all of The Treasures of Divine Wisdom of which Thou Art The Author.  O Jesus, prepare my soul to enjoy the happiness of receiving Thee, to offer Thee a dwelling in my heart that Thou mayst be born there.  Oh, that I could with Thine Angels celebrate Thy Glory and Thy Goodness; that I could enjoy with the Shepherds that peace, which Thou hast promised to men of good will here on earth.  Amen.”

THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION EVERY YEAR!

DECEMBER 8TH — Novena begins:  11/29–12/7:

This is a Holyday of Obligation, which we
are supposed to treat, as we do a Sunday,

An Act of Joy                                                       in The Immaculate Conception:

“ ‘Hail, Glorious Virgin, Morning Star, that dost
outshine the sun, Gracious Mother of my God,
Sweeter than the dropping honeycomb; Thou
Art that Fair One in comparison with whom all
beauty is pale and dim; Thou art redder than
the rose and more dazzling white than the lily;
all virtues adorn Thee.” Amen.

(taken from Our Favorite Devotions, A.D.1897)

For those, who wear the Miraculous Medal:

Pray the “Hail, Mary” once, and then pray 3 times:    “O Mary, Conceived without sin, pray for us, who have recourse to Thee.”     Offer these prayers to The Blessed Virgin Mary, to gain all of the graces, which you need and the grace to cooperate with them, and then, offer them for a miracle, which you desire our Most Blessed Lady to perform, through the power, which our Lord has given to Her.

Novena to St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, Turkey, 11/27 — 12/6

O Glorious Saint Nicholas, my special Patron, from Thy throne in glory, where Thou dost enjoy The Presence of God, turn Thine eyes in pity upon me, and obtain for me from our Lord the graces and helps, that I need in my spiritual and temporal necessities (and especially this favor .…., provided that it be profitable to my salvation).  Be mindful, likewise, O Glorious and Saintly Bishop, of our Sovereign Pontiff, of Holy Church, and of all Christian people.  Bring back to the right way of salvation all those, who are living steeped in sin and blinded by the darkness of ignorance, error, and heresy.  Comfort the afflicted, provide for the needy, strengthen the fearful, defend the oppressed, give health to the infirm; cause all men to experience the effects of Thy powerful intercession with The Supreme Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

Pray one “Our Father”, one “Hail, Mary,” and one “Glory Be”.

V.  Pray for us, O Blessed Nicholas,  R. That we may be made worthy of The Promises of Christ.

Let us pray.                      O God, Who hast glorified Blessed Nicholas, Thine illustrious Confessor and Bishop, by means of countless signs and wonders, and Who dost not cease daily so to glorify him;  grant, we beseech Thee, that we, being assisted by his merits and prayers, may be delivered from the fires of hell and from all dangers.  Through Christ our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee In Unity with The Holy Ghost, ever One God, world without end. Amen.

Novena to our Lady of Guadalupe, 12/3 — 12/11 — Feast on 12/12.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose, make intercession for Holy Church, protect the Sovereign Pontiff, help all of those, who invoke Thee in their necessities, and, since Thou art The Ever-Virgin Mary and Mother of The True God, obtain for us from Thy Most Holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, burning charity and the precious gift of final perseverance. Amen.     (Raccolta, #424)

SONG  TO  OUR  LADY  OF  GUADALUPE

1.        Thou art the Fountain of my life
Under Thy Shadow, and in Thy Protection,
I fear no evil, no pain, no worry,…

Refrain:    O Maria, O Most Merciful Mother,
Gentle Virgin, with the name, Guadalupe,
On a mountain, we find roses in winter,
All the world has been touched by Thy Love.

2.        Here, in the crossing of Thine Arms,
Could there be anything else that I need?
Nothing discourages, nothing depresses.

Refrain:    O Maria, O Most Merciful Mother,
Gentle Virgin, with the name, Guadalupe,
On a mountain, we find roses in winter,
All the world has been touched by Thy Love.

3.        Thou art the Star of the ocean;
My boat is small, and the waves are so high,
(But) With Thee to guide me, I’ll reach my homeland.

Refrain:    O Maria, O Most Merciful Mother,
Gentle Virgin, with the name, Guadalupe,
On a mountain, we find roses in winter,
All the world has been touched by Thy Love.

4.        Thou art the Dawn of a new day,
For Thou gavest Birth to The Son of The Father.
All of my lifetime, I’ll walk beside Thee…

Refrain:    O Maria, O Most Merciful Mother,
Gentle Virgin, with the name, Guadalupe,
On a mountain, we find roses in winter,
All the world has been touched by Thy Love.
All the world has been touched by Thy Love!

O Mary, our Lady of Guadalupe, Empress of the Americas, Patroness of the Unborn, pray for us, protect us, and help us to bring about an end to the Culture of death and bring about the Culture of Life, here and throughout the entire world, in Thy Most Holy Name and in Thy Holy, Extended Family’s Name. Amen.

Novena to St. Francis Xavier, Co-Patron of Missions:  11/24/-12/2 — Feast on 12/3:

According to the Raccolta, a novena (9 consecutive days) of “Grace”, using the following prayer, can
be made at any time in order to gain an intention:

O St. Francis Xavier, well-beloved and full of charity, in union with Thee, I reverently adore The Majesty of God; and since I rejoice with exceeding joy in the singular gifts of grace bestowed upon Thee during Thy life, and Thy gifts of glory after death, I give Him hearty thanks for them; I beseech Thee, with all of my heart’s devotion to be pleased to obtain for me, by Thine effectual intercession, above all things, the grace of a holy life and a happy death.  Moreover, I beg of Thee to obtain for me… (here mention spiritual or temporal favor to be prayed for).  But, if what I ask of Thee so earnestly, doth not tend to The Glory of God and the greater good of my soul, do Thou, I pray, obtain for me what is more profitable to both of these ends.  Amen.  Pray one “Our Father”, one “Hail, Mary”, and one “Glory Be”.          (Raccolta, #500)

Feast of our Lady’s Expectation:  NOVENA:  A.D. 12/9–12/18:

Most just indeed it is, O Holy Mother of God, that we should unite in that ardent desire, which Thou hadst to see Him, Who hadst been concealed for nine months in Thy Chaste Womb; to know The Features of This Son of The Heavenly Father, Who Is also Thine; to come to that blissful Hour of His Most Blessed Nativity, which will give glory to God in the highest, and, on earth, peace to men of good will.  Yes, Dear Mother, the time is fast approaching, though not fast enough to satisfy Thy desires and ours.  Make us redouble our attention to The Great Mystery; complete our preparation by Thy powerful prayers for us, that when The Solemn Hour has come, our Jesus may find no obstacle to His Entrance into our hearts.  Amen.”
